Many patients arrive at their first physical therapy appointment expecting to receive hot packs, ultrasound and instructions on how to complete a series of exercises. These modalities are warranted in many instances and most therapists would agree that exercise is needed to help restore muscle imbalances.
However, Ben Physio & Rehab team, now approach the restoration of body function from a different perspective. We are interested in why a muscle isn’t functioning properly and view exercises not as the driving mode of recovery but as a complement to manual therapy. We do not directly manipulate your pain symptoms to ease your pain.
In addition, Ben Physio & Rehab team are well trained to analyse posture using biomechanical approach. Biomechanic assessment is the tool to explain most of the body dysfunction and pain. Deep clear understanding of how the body system works enhance and speed up our treatment process.
We practice manual therapy and soft tissue manipulation
Manual physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. In soft tissue manipulation, we use our hands to put pressure on muscles, tissues according to the muscles orientation to decrease any pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension and joint dysfunction.
We strive to see patients within 24-72 hours of referral to treat injuries in its acute stage, an option that has been traditionally difficult for patients to obtain in the existing market. Therefore there’s an on-call service charge for urgent cases.
